A LOOK BACK: The Titans ended their fall campaign with a victory at the Cowgirl Desert Intercollegiate at The Classic Golf Club in Palm Springs, Calif.

Hosted by the University of Wyoming, the Titans started the day at the Cowgirl Desert Intercollegiate just three strokes back of the lead, and scored a 305 to narrowly edge Big West Conference foe Cal State Northridge for the title.

Fullerton's final score after three rounds of play was 909 (+45), followed by Cal State Northridge (910, +46) and Rollins College (912; +48) as the Titans finished on top of the 20-team field.

Martina Edberg led Fullerton in the third round with a score of 74 (+2), followed by Tisha Alyn Abrea (76; +4), Seri Lee (77; +5), Dakota Brown (78; +6) and Makayla Mier (79; +7).

Abrea, the reigning Big West Golfer for the month of September, led Cal State Fullerton with a score of 10-over-par (226), finishing tied for 11th.

Lee completed the tournament tied for 13th – her best finish of the fall - after shooting 11-over-par (227) after three rounds of play.

Edberg moved up 10 spots from day one, as her score of 228 (+12) was good for 17th. Mier and Brown completed play with identical scores of 233 (+17), respectively, tying for 36th in the field of 108.

TIP INS

  • Tisha Alyn Abrea and Seri Lee are the only two Titans since the sport was reinstated to have competed in every possible tournament for Cal State Fullerton for their careers (22-for-22)…

  • Fullerton's first-place finish in Palm Desert marked the 10th time in its last 13 events that the Titans have finished in the top five dating back to last season…

  • Abrea finished with the best 36-hole tournament score since reinstatement with her 2-over-par 146 at the Rose City Collegiate on Sept. 30-Oct. 1 while the Titans, as a team, shot a school-record 609 over 36 holes at the rain-shortened event…

  • Fullerton's first-place finish in Palm Desert was its best since finishing second at its own Folino Invitational on Feb. 17-19 last season. It was also Fullerton's first victory since the Rose City Collegiate on Oct. 1-2 during the 2012-13 season and the fifth victory for the program since it was reinstated during the 2009-10 season.
