Titans Cruise Past Antelope Valley in Blowout Victory

FULLERTON, Calif. – Cal State Fullerton women's basketball ended its four game losing streak with a 74-48 blowout victory over Antelope Valley Saturday night at Titan Gym.

Fullerton dominated the game from the opening tip, starting on an 11-0 run in the first 5 minutes of action. The Titans held Antelope Valley to just four points in the first quarter while forcing them to shoot just 18.2 percent from the field.

The Titans had four players in double figures scoring with center Daeja Smith leading the with 17 points while shooting 7-11. Smith also picked up her fourth double-double of the season with 10 rebounds on the night, helping Fullerton out-rebound the Pioneers 43 to 24.

Hannah Thompson provided a spark off of the bench for the Titans, scoring 15 points in 25 minutes of action. China Henderson added 10 points of her own after coming off of the bench while going a perfect 3-3 from the field.

Point guard Jade Vega was in control of the Titans offense all night, dishing out a season-high 10 assists to go along with her 12 points to record her first double-double of the season.

Fullerton shot an impressive 52.1 percent from the field on the night while holding Antelope Valley to just 31.4 percent shooting. Samantha Earl led the way for the Pioneers with 11 points.

The Titans look to continue their success Tuesday night at Titan Gym as they host the University of Texas at San Antonio at 7 p.m. PT.
