FULLERTON, Calif. -- A Cal State Fullerton graduate, Nicholas Milan returns to his alma mater as the Director of Basketball Operations on first-year head coach Jeff Harada's women's basketball staff, it was announced on Monday.

"As a CSUF alum, Nick bleeds navy and orange," said Harada. "His knowledge of the school and area combined with his passion for basketball, work ethic and organizational skills will highly benefit our program.  Being from Hawaii we grew up in the same culture and share similar values so I'm very excited in having him on board."

The Honolulu native returns to Cal State Fullerton after spending the last four seasons in various coaching capacities at Kamehameha High School in his hometown.

Milan graduated in 2009 with a Bachelor of Science degree in kinesiology. After his graduation, he returned to Hawaii and earned his Master of Education degree in educational administration in 2013 from the University of Hawaii at Manoa.

While working on his degree from 2010-2013, Milan served as a graduate basketball manager with the UH men's program preparing scouting reports, editing breakdown videos of the team and opponents, conducting individual player workouts, monitoring the academic eligibility of student-athletes, assisting with travel arrangements, promoting and conducting the Rainbow Warrior Summer Basketball Camp, and coordinating all equipment handling.

While attending Cal State Fullerton, Milan spent one season (2009-10) as the freshman boys' basketball coach at Yorba Linda High School. Before arriving at Fullerton, Milan played two seasons at Orange Coast College (2006-08), and also served as a team manager for the UH men's basketball program from 2004-06.

Milan played four seasons of varsity basketball at Kaimuki High School in Honolulu, graduating in 2004.

Milan joins a coaching staff of Casandra Reno, Karlie Burris and Charel Allen as Harada announced his assistant coaches in June.
