FULLERTON, Calif. – The Cal State Fullerton women's basketball team inked one early commit in Nasrin Ulel, who signed her National Letter of Intent on Wednesday afternoon to join the Titan family for the 2016-17 season.
"This was a very interesting recruiting year for us. After signing eight last year, our current roster is so young (1 senior) so we didn't have a huge need to fill. We were able to be very picky and specific with what type of player and person we wanted," explained third-year head coach Daron Park. "I give a tremendous amount of credit to our recruiting coordinator Abi Olajuwon as well as the rest of my staff for all their hard work in making this day so special and exciting for Cal State Fullerton Women's Basketball."

During her junior campaign playing varsity basketball at Vista Murrieta, Ulel hit a career high and broke a school record by scoring 46 points in their 91-51 win over Mesa. In two years on the varsity squad, Ulel has averaged 7.8 points and 4.5 rebounds per game. Last season, the 5-7 forward averaged 10.6 points per game leading her to a second-team All-Southwestern league honor.
"We are extremely excited to welcome Nas to our program. She is an extremely athletic and competitive player whose effort and desire is rare at the high school level," said Coach Park. "She is an explosive perimeter player that loves to defend and can really impact a game on that end of the floor. She will nicely compliment our current team and we are thrilled with her decision to become a Titan."
The Titans open the season tomorrow night at Titan Gym playing host to Portland State at 7:30 p.m.
