Reiss Heads East to Syracuse

FULLERTON, Calif. – Former Cal State Fullerton associate head coach, Tammi Reiss, has accepted an assistant coach position at Syracuse University, announced head coach Daron Park.

Reiss spent the past two years as the associate head coach at Cal State Fullerton and was a key part of the coaching staff that led the 2015 Titans on a run into the semifinals of the Big West Tournament, knocking off No. 3-seed Cal Poly in the process.

The Eldred, New York native spent her time under second-year head coach Daron Park as the Titans' recruiting coordinator while also responsible for game and practice preparation, player development, and off-season conditioning.

"Tammi has been a valuable member of the Titan women's basketball family the last two years," head coach Daron Park said.  "I really enjoyed having her as a part of my staff and wish her all the best as she moves forward with her career."

Reiss graduated from Virginia in 1992, leading the Cavaliers to three Final Four appearances, three ACC regular-season titles and two ACC Tournament Championships.  The Utah Starzz then took the point guard with the fifth overall pick in the 1997 WNBA draft.

She accepted her first assistant coaching position at her alma mater, the University
of Virginia, before moving into the professional coaching ranks as an assistant coach for the Utah Starzz.  Reiss then progressed back into the collegiate ranks as an assistant coach at San Diego State from 2011-13, before her move to Cal State Fullerton in the summer of 2014.
