SERIES NOTES
Cal Poly: Cal State Fullerton still holds the all-time series lead over Big West foe Cal Poly, but the Mustangs have been closing the gap quickly over the past 10 meetings as the Titans have only been able to win one of the last 10.  That win came in the last meeting between the two teams, a 78-77 win Feb. 20 at Titan Gym.
UC Santa Barbara: The Titans have been putting up better results against UCSB in recenty history.  In 2013, Fullerton snapped a 40-game losing streak to the Gauchos, then went on to win their second-straight with a win in the first meeting last season.  In the second meeting, the Gauchos came out victorious at Titan Gym 64-54 on Feb. 22.

#WEARYOURCOLORS
Saturday's Big West showdown between Fullerton and UC Santa Barbara will be #wearyourcolors T-Shirt giveaway night at Titan Gym. All Cal State Fullerton students in attendance will receive a t-shirt while supplies last.

PARK'S PREVIEW
"This is a big week for us as we play two very important home games.  We are in a challenging stretch right now playing only two out of seven conference games here at home.  It is really important we come out focused and excited for this opportunity.  We talk about the importance of defending the logo on our home floor, and that will be critical to our success during this stretch of difficult games.  We are looking forward to the challenge presented to us this week and hope we get a nice crowd to come support us both nights." - Daron Park

FULLERTON'S RECENT RESULTS
Jan. 17 at UC Davis
The Titans four-game winning streak was snapped by UC Davis on Saturday afternoon at The Pavilion, 64-59, behind 34 points from the Aggie bench that included Dani Nafekh's team-high 17 points.
The Titans (8-8, 2-1) and the Aggies spent the entire game hitting big shots at the most important moments, until the final minutes of the game when the Titans could not find an answer to the Aggie defense.  UC Davis earned the win on the back of a 9-0 run in the last five minutes as Fullerton could only manage to make one out of its last 11 shots from the field.
Entering the last nine minutes of the game, the Titans looked to be pulling away as a Tailer Butler three-pointer dropped to give Fullerton its largest lead of the game at 56-48.  But the game had one last momentum swing as four-straight points from Alyson Doherty and a Nafekh three-pointer cut the Aggie deficit to one, 56-55, with 7:20 left in the game.
UC Davis' Rachel Nagel gave the Aggies the last points they would need when her jump shot fell through the net to give them a 60-59 lead with 4:17 left to play.  A Doherty jumper gave the Aggies some breathing room with a minute left in the game, and senior Kelsey Harris sunk her two free-throws in the dying seconds to put the game out of reach.
The Titans were led by Chante Miles who scored 23 points on 8-of-19 from the field, she also added four rebounds and five assists in her eighth, 40-minute performance of the year.  Butler poured in a season-high 19 points on 7-of-17 shooting from the field which included 5-of-12 from behind the arc.  The senior from Los Angeles, Calif. also went the entire 40 minutes for the first time this year.

BREAKING DOWN CAL POLY
The Mustangs will enter Titan Gym on a high note after winning the rematch of last season's Big West Tournament Championship game against CSUN, 63-54, in front of the second-largest crowd at Mott Athletics Center in the history of the program (2,047).
With the win, Cal Poly moved to 8-8 overall and a 3-1 mark in Big West Conference play. The Mustangs currently sit for second-place in the Big West with UC Davis as they enter the third week of conference action.
Former Big West Player of the Week, Ariana Elegado, leads the Mustangs into the matchup with the Titans on Thursday averaging 15.8 points per game.  Elegado is fourth in the Big West in points per game, three-point FG made per game (2.44), and steals (26).

BREAKING DOWN UC SANTA BARBARA
After opening Big West play against the current top-three teams in the conference, the Gauchos sit 0-3 in the Big West and 0-16 on the season.
Despite a career night from Makala Roper, UC Santa Barbara fell to Long Beach State 81-44 at the Thunderdome in their last time out.  Roper poured in 15 points on 3-of-5 from behind the arc, she also pulled down four rebounds and had one steal on the night.
Onome Jemerigbe is the player to look out for on the Gaucho roster, leading UCSB in scoring with 8.2 points per game, while playing a team-high 29.3 minutes per game.

HIT ME WITH YOUR BEST SHOT
Cal State Fullerton's 2014-15 slate will feature eight teams that were either in the NCAA tournament or WNIT postseason tournaments a year ago, with five of those matchups appearing in the non-conference schedule.
"Our non-conference schedule accomplished exactly what we hoped it would, prepare us for a challenging Big West Conference," said Park.  "We were able to learn a lot about ourselves and how to handle different situations that we encountered as a result of playing quality opponents.  Our players finished our non-conference schedule confident and excited to begin conference play."
