FULLERTON, Calif. – Senior point guard Chante Miles captured Big West Women's Basketball Playerof the Week accolades after notching her first double-double and fifth 20-point game of the season to help the Titans post a 2-0 record.
Miles led the Titans to a 20-point win over UMKC on New Year's Eve with 18 points and a career-high 12 assists. Miles hit three treys en route to a 7-for-16 shooting effort as the Titans rolled to a 72-52 victory.
The Compton, Calif. native also directed a 66-59 come-from-behind victory at Seattle thanks to a 28-point performance. She poured in 10-of-22 from the field, including four three-pointers, and chipped in four rebounds, six assists, three steals, and a blocked shot.
With 28 points against Seattle, Miles has moved up the Fullerton all-time scoring list and now sits in 15th place (1,101 points). On Sunday she passed Amber Pruitt (1,078 points), Terri Withers (1,078), Brenda Martin (1,094), Jill Matyuch (1,097), Lyndsey Grove (1,098), and Claudette Jackson (1,100) on the list.
For the week, she averaged 23.0 points, 9.0 assists and 3.5 rebounds as CSF improved to 6-7 on the season.
The Titans look to continue their winning ways as they enter Big West Conference action against UC Riverside at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday at Titan Gym.
