CBU's hot-shooting first half put the Titans back on their heels as the Lancers shot 45 percent from the field compared to the Titans 28 percent shooting.   But the Titans defense forced four turnovers that lead to instant offense and five three-pointers that helped keep Fullerton in the game, as the Lancers held a 35-27 edge at halftime.

Led by senior point guard Chante Miles, the Titans closed the halftime lead within minutes of the second-half starting when an 11-to-3 run by CSF tied the score at 38-38 with 16 minutes left to play in the game.

CBU wasted no time regaining that lead as Diaz scored five straight points and the Lancers team added five more points, all unanswered by the Titans, making the score 48-38 with 13 minutes remaining. 

 
The teams traded baskets until freshman Portia Neale entered the game and gave the Titans a spark.  During her first possession, Neale drained a three-pointer, and scored on the very next possession to help close the Titan deficit to 61-56 with 2:37 to play.  But there would be no late-game heroics as the Titans missed their next two three-point attemtps and California Baptist ran out the rest of the remaining time on the clock.

 
The Lancers were led by Diaz, who was 6-of-16 from the floor, but had plenty of help from Cassidy Mihalko who scored 12 points (5-of-11 shooting), Darsha Burnside (4-of-4) and Madeleine White (2-of-4) poured in 8 point apiece. 

 
The Titans received big scoring nights from Miles who accounted for 12 Titan points, Amanda Tivenius who had 13 points in her Titan debut,  Daeja Smith contributed 12 points, and Samantha Logan scored 10 points with a team-high nine rebounds. 

 
The Titans tip off their 2014-15 season on Sunday, Nov. 16 at Titan Gym against head coach Daron Park's alma mater Montana State at 1:00 p.m.
