THIS WEEK
The Cal State Fullerton men's soccer team looks to finish atop the South Division standings with their final two regular season matches this week. 

The Titans head to Big West rival, UC Irvine to take on the Anteaters on Wednesday night at Anteater Stadium before finishing up the regular season at UC Riverside on Saturday night at UC Riverside Soccer Stadium.

OPPONENTS & HISTORY

UC Irvine | 7:00 p.m. | Wednesday, Oct. 28 | Anteater Stadium
After being tabbed the South Division preseason favorites, UC Irvine has posted a 5-9-3 overall record while recording a Big West record of 3-4-1. 

UC Irvine's Eduardo Calzada and Jorge Lara swept the Big West Player of the Week honors this past week after leading the Anteaters to a 2-0 weekend with victories over UC Riverside and CSUN.

The Anteaters close out Big West play fighting for the top spot in the South Division hosting Fullerton on Wednesday before hosting CSUN on Saturday night.

Head to Head: The two teams met in the first week of South Division play when the Titans shutout the Anteaters 3-0 at Titan Stadium. Freshmen Brandon West, Ronaldo Pineda and Ross McPhie scored goals en route to the 3-0 win.

UC Riverside | 7:00 p.m. | Saturday, Oct. 31 | UC Riverside Soccer Stadium
UC Riverside rounds out regular season play with a 6-10-1 record while posting a 2-6-0 record in Big West play. The Highlanders currently sit in fourth place in the South Division with seven points.

The Highlanders are led offensively by senior forwards Norberto Ochoa and Michael Salazar, totaling 13 goals on the year. Ashkan Khosravi has accumulated more than half of the minutes in the net and has totaled 45 saves in almost 1000 minutes played.
 

Head to Head: The Highlanders stunned the Titans on Saturday night by scoring a goal in the last ten seconds of the match to knot the score at one. Within the first two minutes of overtime, UCR scored the golden goal off a penalty kick to topple the Titans, 2-1.

OVERTIME WOES
Cal State Fullerton entered it's third overtime match of the season on Saturday night against UC Riverside. Unfortunately the match did not come out in the Titans favor as dropped the match in the first two minutes of overtime play on a golden goal penalty kick to drop their final home match 2-1. 

HIT THE ROAD, TITANS
Cal State Fullerton closes out their regular season schedule on the road, which seems to be a daunting task with four of their seven losses coming while being on the road. Two wins on the road this weekend will put the Titans back to a .500 record in opposing stadiums.

I SCORE, YOU SCORE, WE ALL SCORE!
Twelve different Titans have scored this season to total the team's 24 goals, seven Titans scoring their first career goals.

Freshmen Brandon West, Michael Lopez and Ross McPhie scored their first goals in a Titan uniform in a 3-0 shutout over George Washington. Transfer Ruben Alvarez and sophomore Nicolo D'Amato scored the first goals of their careers as in a comeback victory against Santa Clara and in a 3-0 victory over San Francisco,respectively. Freshman Ronaldo Pineda also joined the club as he scored his first career goal against Sacramento State in a 2-0 shutout victory to open Big West play. Lastly, transfer Edgar Rodriguez scored his first career goal on Wednesday night against CSUN. 

NUMBER 400
The Cal State Fullerton men's soccer team recorded their 400th win in program history in a 3-0 victory over UC Irvine.

DAVID GARNERS #AOTW HONORS
Junior goalkeeper David Rodriguez Elias earned the first Big West Defensive Player of the Week honors after leading his team to a 2-0 weekend in week 9, while collecting two shutouts.

The Titan keeper logged six saves on the weekend, including four key saves against rival UC Irvine.

DAVID MAKING HISTORY
The Titan keeper has also landed a spot atop the record books this season, tying Mike Ammann for single season shutouts with nine. Elias has gotten comfortable in the net, playing all 1564 minutes this season, good for fourth in the nation in goalie minutes played. Elias is also nationally recognized ranking 16th with a 0.53 shutout percentage while ranking 45th in the nation with a 0.92 goals against average. The 6-2 keeper has recorded 49 saves on the year while having a career night against Utah Valley recording seven saves in the match.

FRESHMEN MAKING AN IMPACT
Freshmen Brandon West, Ross McPhie and Ronaldo Pineda have made an impact in the Titans' offense, all three of them scoring a goal a piece in the Titans' win over UC Irvine Saturday night. On the season, West and McPhie have scored three goals each while accumulating 7 assists between the two. Pineda scored his second of the year on Saturday night and currently leads the Titans with 32 shots in 2015.
 

BACK LINE STAYING BIG WEST STRONG
The Cal State Fullerton defense has upheld their end of the deal so far in Big West play, allowing only six goals through eight games while allowing only 28 corner kicks by opponents. The Titan defense has also only allowed 60 shots to Fullerton's 101, only 26 of those being on target. Titan keeper Elias and the defense have posted five shutouts in Big West play while Elias has notched 20 saves and a 0.72 goals against average.

BRYAN NOTCHES WEEKLY HONORS
Junior defender Zach Bryan notched his first career Big West Defensive Player of the Week honors after anchoring a defense that led the Titans to a 2-0 weekend. The Murietta native led the Titan defense, which posted two shutouts this weekend against Sacramento State (2-0) and UC Davis (1-0), while logging the team's fourth shutout in five games.

Bryan was instrumental in leading a Titan defense that allowed only 13 shots between the two teams, including Thursday night's match against Sacramento State who managed only three shots, none of them being on goal.

The 6-4 defender scored his first goal of the season against the Hornets, notching the game-winner in the 19th minute.

FRESH BLOOD
Freshman Brandon West is the first Titan in history to earn Big West Player of the Week honors as a freshman. The forward scored the first goal of his career against George Washington and had the assist in the game-winning goal in Sunday's comeback victory over Santa Clara to earn him the nod.

PRESEASON MATCH UPS
Cal State Fullerton was put to the test this preseason with exhibition matches against No. 16 Cal and the U17 Mexican National Team. The Titans played a 1-1 draw against Cal with Diego Sanchez scoring the Titans lone goal of the match before netting another goal against Mexico in a 3-1 loss.
 

ABOUT THE 2014 CHAMPIONSHIP SEASON
Cal State Fullerton (10-8-6), led by first-year head coach George Kuntz won their first Big West Tournament Championship in school history.  After finishing third in the Big West South Division regular season, the Titans beat UC Irvine in the championship game to give them the automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament.

Fullerton concluded its season with a heartbreaking loss in double overtime against the University of San Diego in the first round of the NCAA Tournament.
