FULLERTON, Calif. – The Cal State Fullerton men's soccer team dropped their final exhibition to the U17 Mexican National team in a 3-1 loss at Titan Stadium Saturday night.

The match between the two teams drew an attendance of 1,528 as Cal State Fullerton was the last stop of Mexico's tour in preparation for the World Cup in Chile this October.

The lone goal from sophomore Diego Sanchez didn't prove to be enough as Mexico scored three goals from three different players, two of their goals coming in the second half of the match.

The Titans knotted the score in the first half when a pass from Ross McPhie found Sanchez who then put it in the top left corner of the net. Fullerton held Mexico for the rest of the half with help from goalkeeper David Elias Rodriguez, who had six saves in the match.

Fullerton had a few chances to score late in the match with shots from freshman Ronaldo Pineda but some great saves from Mexico goalkeeper Abraham Romero held the Titans at one.

The Titans begin the regular season on the road as they head to Ohio State to take on the Buckeyes on Friday, Aug. 28 and will return to Titan Stadium on Sept. 4 for their home opener against George Washington.
