FullertonTitans.com:
What made you ultimately decide to attend Cal State Fullerton and play for the Titans?

Ramon Chavez
: My support system of family and friends agreed for me to participate in CSUF after a long decision. It was not a hard decision considering the prestige and high honor of the institution and soccer program. However my Father, who approved Fullerton as my next destination in my career, influenced the ultimate decision. My plans were to go back to my hometown in Texas and continue only with my academic career, but Fullerton is, and will be, the best decision in my career.

FT
: What position do you play, and what is your favorite aspect about playing that position?

RC
: Center back is my position. There are a lot of great aspects of playing soccer in general, but in my position I find the greatest satisfaction in soccer. It is the great responsibility of maintaining and organizing the whole team from the back line. I love challenges, and center back is a big one, either defending the opponent or directing your team. Defense wins championships, and I am aware of that.

FT
: What will the Titan fans expect to see from you on the field in 2015?

RC
: There are many people who are expecting great accomplishments from us in the near future, and next season will not be different. I can only say that Titan fans and general public can expect from my team and I our best in everything we do on and off the field.   I was classified as a talented and technical player by many coaches. In my opinion, the way I play is like a student of the game. I am a coachable player, always trying to learn. My team can expect from me to lead by example in everything I do.

FT
: What do you plan on studying in college and why?

RC
: Currently, I am a kinesiology major at Fullerton. I decided to study kinesiology because ever since I was a kid I had a major interest in medicine and the human body. I found out that hospitals was not a place for me, so working with injured people is also good fit.  Also, I have been an athlete ever since I can remember and kinesiology offers the scientific study in movement and physical activity that I have practiced since I was a child.

FT
: If you had a chance to spend the day with anyone throughout history, who would it be, and why?

RC
: The Apostle Paul is whom I would like to spend a day with if I could choose anyone. He is a perfect example of a Christian role model, and I would love to ask him some questions.

FT
: What is your hidden talent?

RC: Teach and tell stories. I am good at dramas and improvisations.

Your favorite all-time sports moment: Coming back from two knee surgeries and be able to play with my teammates at Taft College for at least one season. Many moments in that season are memorable for many of us at Taft. We went undefeated to State semi-finals losing to the current state champions. My favorite all-time sports moment is and would be connecting with people.
