PRINCEVILLE, Kaua'i. – After placing seventh after two rounds, Cal State Fullerton men's golf moved up to a tie for fourth place Tuesday afternoon at Warrior Princeville Makai Invitational with a final score of 19-under par 845.
The Titans shot the second best score in round three with a 11-under par to move up three spots on the final day of the tournament. Pepperdine took first place with a score of 28-under par 836. Blake Elliott of McNeese State held on to the top spot individually with a 18-under par 198.
Matt Wilson led the way individually for the Titans, placing tied for 22nd with a score of 5-under par 211. Wilson moved up from tied for 53rd at the end of round two after shooting a 7-under par 65 in the third and final round.
Matt Rafter finished tied for 31st at 3-under par 213. Rafter like Wilson, had his best round of the tournament in round three with a 4-under par 68 to move all the way up from 45th place at the end of day two.
Michael Sharkey and Dalton Daniel placed tied for 35th after shooting a 2-under par 214. Both shot a even at par 72 in round three. Jack Dyer placed finished tied for 46th place with a 216 even at par after shooting a 1-over par 73 in round three.
Fullerton is not out of action until February 11 when they stay local for the UCI Anteater Invitational at the Big Canyon Country Club in Newport Beach.
