SANTA BARBARA, Calif.--- Cal State Fullerton concluded play at the Big West Championships, scoring a 291 to finish +7 for the tournament and place seventh, Wednesday out at the Sandpiper Golf Club.
Matt Wilson was a star for the Titans, as shot an even par (72) on Wednesday to place eighth overall and -1 for the event. Mark Cobey also finished strong, shooting a 72 to finish +1 for the tournament with a score of 217, placing 17th. Matt Murphy also finished with an overall score of 217 to round out the top-20 performances for the Titans.
Michael Sharkey recorded an overall score of 223, while Ty Stites shot a 228 to finish tied for 33rd and 37th respectively.
Host UC Santa Barbara ended up winning the conference team title, finishing -12 for the tournament, as it led wire-to-wire. CSUN made things interesting at the end, as a strong third day got them within one stroke, but it finished second with a score of -11. However, CSUN"s Felix Mory claimed the Big West Individual title, dialing up a score of 206, shooting -10 overall.
