Tetrault Paces Titans to Seventh at Redhawk Invitational

Team/Individual Results 

UNIVERSITY PLACE, Wash.- The Cal State Fullerton men's golf team completed play at the second annual Redhawk Invitational in seventh place among an 18-team field at the Chambers Bay Golf Club on Tuesday.

The Titans tallied a final score of 911 (+71) after firing a third round 23-over 303 to post their highest finish of the season. Washington garnered the team championship logging a total score of 854 (+10). The Huskies shot a third round of 15-over 295, wrapping up the event over 20-strokes ahead of the nearest competitor.

Fullerton senior Ryan Tetrault improved from his day one total to climb nine spots and finish 10th after carding a final round of 72 (+2) en route to a total score of 220 (+10). The native of Villa Park, Calif. led the tournament with 13 birdies over the 54-hole event to notch his second top 10 finish of the season and 14th of his career.

Washington was followed by host Seattle (+38, 878), TCU (+43, 883), Seton Hall (+55, 895) and Missouri-Kansas City (+61, 901) to round out the top five teams.

The Washington duo of Frank Garber (+2, 212) and Corey Pereira (+3, 213) concluded play at Chambers Bay in first and second place, respectively, and Charlie Kern (+4, 214) of William & Mary rounded out the top three on the individual leaderboard.

Cal State Fullerton sophomore Kyle De Silva and freshman Mark Cobey concluded the tournament tied for 42nd position after each tallied a three-round score of 22-over 232, respectively. De Silva, a native of Orange, Calif. shot a final round of 12-over 82, while Cobey turned in a final 18-holes mark of 8-over 78 after sinking a total of seven birdies over the two-day event.

CSF senior Josh Park carded a third round of 75 (+5) to finish in 63rd with a total score of 236 (+26), while junior Mark Jensma wrapped up play in Washington with a final tally of 239 (+29) following a third round 8-over 70.

The Titans will continue their busy week of competition and return to California to compete at the El Macero Classic hosted by UC Davis on Friday-Sunday at the El Macero Golf Club in El Macero, Calif.
