FULLERTON, Calif. - Davon Clare, an alumnus of Cal State Fullerton men's basketball, signed his first professional contract with CAB Madeira and will play in the Liga Portuguesa de Basquetebol in Portugal. Rowe's new squad is based in Funchal, Madiera and is in the top league in Portugal.
Clare finished his career playing the third-most games in program history at 126. He started all 31 games as a senior and averaged 8.4 points per game overall. He was second on the team in blocks at 18 total and also in rebounds at 5.5 per game. In one of his best games of the season, Clare scored a then career-high 17 points at LBSU (Jan. 18) including 15 in the second half to lead the Titans to a win. He then posted a new career-high 21 points against Cal Poly (Feb. 15) to lead Fullerton to a 4OT win.
Clare went played in a postseason tournament in each of his first three years in the program. In 2016-17 and 2018-19 his teams played in the CollegeInsider.com Tournament and in 2017-18, the Titans won the Big West Tournament and went on to compete in the NCAA Tournament.
Clare joins Jackson Rowe as the two members of the 2019-20 graduating class to sign professional contracts. Rowe will play in France in the upcoming season.
