MBB Drops Close One at UC Davis

Davis, Calif. – Cal State Fullerton men's basketball lost at UC Davis on Saturday by a score of 66-59. The Titans had won the previous four games against the Aggies but could not keep the streak alive as the team fell to 14-15 overall and 10-15 in Big West action.

UC Davis led for roughly 32 minutes of the game including the entire second half. The Titans had 17 turnovers and the Aggies scored 20 points off those turnovers. On the other side, UCD turned it over just nine times while the Titans scored just two points off those turnovers. Fullerton shot 42% (22-52) from the field, 30% (6-20) from distance and 64% (9-14) from the stripe. The Aggies shot 38% (20-53) from the field, 26% (5-19) from three but had a significant advantage at the free-throw line, shooting 21-27 (78%).

 

Senior guard Khalil Ahmad led the team in scoring with 18 points (7-13 FGA, 3-3 FTA) and had two steals. Senior guard Kyle Allman, Jr., who set the program record for most games played in a career with 122, tallied 17 points (5-15 FGA, 4-6 FTA), three rebounds, two assists and a steal. Junior forward Jackson Rowe narrowly missed a double-double as he posted a line of eight points, 11 rebounds and two assists. Junior forward Davon Clare was a team-high +8 in plus/minus off the bench, tallying four points, two rebounds, two assists and a blocked shot in 12 minutes.

 

Fullerton returns home to Titan Gym next Saturday against Hawai'I at 7 p.m. PT for the final home game of the season. We will honor our three seniors prior to tip-off as well.
