FULLERTON, Calif. – Cal State Fullerton men's basketball picked up its sixth straight win at Titan Gym and seventh straight win against Cal Poly as it won 86-75 on Thursday night. Three Titans scored in double figures including junior forward Jackson Rowe with a double-double of 15 points and 13 rebounds. For the first time in program history, the Titans have won 10+ conference games in three straight seasons. On the year, the Titans are 14-14 overall and 10-4 in league play with two games to go. Fullerton can tie or set the record for best three-year stretch in league play in school history. Over the course of the 1982-83, 83-84 and 84-85 seasons the Titans won 12, 8, and 11 games for a total of 31.

The highlight of the night came when team manager Sammy Jones, a senior at Cal State Fullerton that has been a manager for the program for all four years checked into the game, his first-ever appearance in a Titan uniform. Not only did he get on the court but he scored, converting an and one layup and he made the free throw.

It was a foul-heavy game on as over 50 fouls were called and the Titans went 35-49 (71.4%)  The Titans set a new single game record for free throw attempts by a Cal Poly opponent (49, eclipsing the 48 attempted by Seattle on Dec. 3, 2009). The Titans also knocked down 35 to match the all-time Cal Poly record for opponent free throw conversions (set by UC Irvine on March 6, 2010). The Titans ended up shooting 43.4% (23-53) from the field.

Along with Rowe's sixth double-double of the season, senior guards Kyle Allman, Jr. and Khalil Ahmad both scored 20+ points. Allman had a game-high 25 points (8-15 FGA, 8-11 FTA), three rebounds and four assists. Ahmad tallied 22 points (12-15 FTA) with eight rebounds and a steal. Sophomore forward Josh Pitts chipped in nine points and six rebounds, five of which were offensive, in 14 minutes off the bench.

Fullerton returns to action on Saturday at 7 p.m. PT at UC Davis.
