Lincoln, Neb. – Cal State Fullerton men's basketball fell at Nebraska on Saturday afternoon by a score of 86-62. Nebraska's James Palmer scored a game-high 23 points to lead the Huskers while three others were in double figures, including Glynn Watson Jr. who had a double-double with 10 assists. Three Titans scored in double figures, led by senior guard Kyle Allman, Jr. with 16 points.
The Huskers led for 37 minutes and the game was tied for the other three minutes. Nebraska shot well from the field at 44% (26-59) and from distance at 45% (10-22). They struggled at the stripe (24-38, 63%) but they still made more free throws than the Titans attempted (8-16). The Huskers also took care of the ball, only committing seven turnovers while forcing 16 and scoring 20 points off those turnovers.
Allman tallied 16 points, 14 of which came in the second half. Junior guard Austen Awosika had 13 points, nine rebounds, one assist and two steals. Senior guard Khalil Ahmad scored 12 points and had three rebounds despite being in foul trouble.
Fullerton returns home to face the Portland Pilots on Dec. 29 at 6 p.m. PT.
