Allman Scores 38, Men’s Basketball Comes Up Short At Hofstra

Hempstead, N.Y. – Cal State Fullerton men's basketball fell to Hofstra on Wednesday night by a score of 80-71 despite senior guard Kyle Allman, Jr. scoring 38 points.

Fullerton's lone lead in the game came at the 14:12 mark of the first half when the score was 10-9. Hofstra led for 33:44 of the game behind Justin Wright-Foreman's 37 points on 13-20 shooting from the floor and 9-11 from the stripe.

Allman scored 38 on 12-22 shooting from the field, a career-high eight three-point field goals made on 14 tries and 6-9 from the stripe. The Brooklyn native also hauled in three rebounds. Junior forward Jackson Rowe tallied his first double-double of the season as he had a line of 12 points, 11 rebounds, three assists, one block and a steal. Senior guard Khalil Ahmad was the only other double-figure scorer as he tallied 13 points (5-10 FGA) to go along with five rebounds, three assists and two steals.

The Titans and Pride both shot 46% from the field as CSF went 26-57 and Hofstra was 29-63. The Titans went 10-28 from three but Allman accounted for 8-14. At the charity stripe, the Titans shot 9-13 (69%). Turnovers were an issues as the Titans' 13 turnovers led to 15 points for Hofstra.

Fullerton's 13-day road trip concludes on Saturday at Sacramento State at 7 p.m. PT.
