LONG BEACH, Calif. – Cal State Fullerton men's basketball lost on the road to Long Beach State on Saturday night by a score of 81-73. The 49ers had five players score in double figures, led by Temidayo Yussuf and Gabe Levin who both scored a game-high 19 points.
Long Beach State (10-12, 4-2 BWC) led Cal State Fullerton (11-7, 4-2 BWC) for 39:03 and was in control throughout the game. The 49ers led 46-29 at the half and had a rebounding advantage of 25-11 at the break. LBSU ended the game with a 43-31 rebounding edge and scored 19 second-chance points. The 49ers shot 47 percent (29-62) from the field and 52 percent (11-21) from beyond the arc.
Yussuf had 19 points and 14 rebounds while Levin had 19 points and nine rebounds. Jordan Roberts (11 points), Deishuan Booker (14 points) and Edon Maxhuni (11 points) also scored in double figures for LBSU.
Four Titans scored in double figures, led by junior guard Khalil Ahmad who tallied 16 points and hauled in eight rebounds. Junior guard Kyle Allman, Jr. scored 13 points and had three steals. Sophomore guard Austen Awosika scored a season-high 13 points and dished out two assists to go along with two steals. Sophomore forward Jackson Rowe tallied 13 points, six rebounds and two blocks.
CSF returns to action on Thursday when it hosts UC Santa Barbara at 7:30 p.m. PT on Fox Sports West.
