Both Esume and Brooks saw action on both the Blue and Orange squads, but the pair combined for 20 points while donning blue. Contributing to the offense was redshirt junior guard Tre' Coggins who knocked down all 13 of his points for the Blue Team.

 

The scrimmage, which consisted of three 10-minute periods, lasted a little over an hour as the Titans used the contest to get adjusted to playing together as a team. Cal State Fullerton returns just one starters from a year ago in Esume, while welcoming six newcomers and bringing back four lettermen.

 

The Blue team jumped ahead early in the game as it wasted no time nearly doubling up the Orange team, 20-11, in the first period. Behind the offensive efforts of Esume, Brooks and Coggins, the Blue Team outscored the Orange team 16-3 in the second period.

 

During the second frame, the Orange squad hit a scoring drought as the Blue team's defense did not allow Orange to score for nearly eight minutes. Freshman guard Jamal Smith hit a three at 9:05 in the third period to end the drought.

 

Although the Orange team outscored the Blue squad in the third period, 18-17, the cold-shooting during much of the second period did not allow them to pull within striking distance as the Blue Team went on to take the scrimmage, 53-32.

 

The Blue team held the edge in rebounds as they collected 26 boards to the Orange squad's 21. They also took advantage of the 10 turnovers committed by the Orange team as Blue only turned the ball over four times.

 

The Titans will take the court next against Bethesda in an exhibition game, which is also a doubleheader with the CSF women's basketball team, on Friday, Nov. 6 at 5:30 p.m. Cal State Fullerton opens the 2015-16 season on the road on Friday, Nov. 13 at 7 p.m. at Loyola Marymount in Los Angeles, Calif. The Titans' home opener will be played on Saturday, Nov. 21 against San Diego at 3 p.m.
