FULLERTON, CA - Gabe Vincent scored a career-high 19 points, Alan Williams had 15 and Michael Brysonn added 14 Saturday night as UC Santa Barbara rode a torrid first half to a 69-54 Big West Conference victory at Cal State Fullerton.

Vincent made 8-of-9 shots including 3-of-4 3-point tries after making only 3-of-10 shots over his two previous games.  He was 5-for-5 in the first half when the Gauchos (14-12, 7-6) shot 64 percent overall and made 6-of-9 treys on their way to a 49-30 halftime lead.

The Titans (9-18, 1-11) got 15 points from Lanerryl Johnson and 9 from Moses Morgan while losing their fifth in a row and their second of the season to UCSB.

Both teams shot only 33 percent from the floor in the second half as Fullerton tried to rally.    The Titans, whose 19-point halftime deficit was the largest of the season, got within 10 at 61-51 with 8 minutes remaining.  But the Gauchos came up with three consecutive layups while the Titans were committing a turnover, missing two shots and picking up an offensive foul and quickly it was 67-51 with 6 minutes left.

Williams, the 2014 Big West player of the year, was playing his second game since missing three weeks with a shoulder injury.  Neither he nor Vincent played in UCSB's 66-49 win over the Titans on Jan. 24.  Fullerton played this game without leading scorer (16.1 ppg) Alex Harris, who missed his third game due to a thigh injury.

UCSB led the entire game with its biggest lead at 56-32 early in the second half.

Jordan Mason came off the Fullerton bench to spark the brief rally.  He scored 5 of his 7 points unanswered to cut into a 61-46 Gaucho lead.  He led Fullerton with 6 rebounds, the same total as UCSB leader Williams.

UCSB plays three of its remaining four games at home beginning with Thursday night's game vs. first-place UC Davis.

Fullerton plays three of four on the road beginning with a Thursday night game at CSUN that will have a huge impact on its chances to qualify for the post-season tournament.
