FULLERTON, Calif. – Following a series win against No. 17 Stanford, Zach Lew has been named Big West Field Player of the Week, the conference announced Monday.

Lew set the tone early and often as the leadoff hitter. The sophomore went 6-for-13 on the weekend (.462 average) with one RBI and five runs to go along with two walks. For the week, Lew posted a .533 on-base percentage and .615 slugging percentage.

In the Titans 6-1 win on Saturday, Lew recorded a career high four hits, going 4-for-6, including his first career triple, with an RBI and two runs. Lew spearheaded the 18-hit Titan attack that led to head coach Rick Vanderhook securing his 300th career win.

With the opening series win against Stanford, the Titans are now ranked No. 24 in the country by D1 Baseball after coming into the season unranked.

Fullerton returns to action Tuesday night as the team takes on San Diego State at Tony Gwynn Stadium. First pitch is set for 6:00 p.m. PT.
