Fullerton Set to Host James Madison at Goodwin Field

FULLERTON, Calif. – Following double-digit scoring outputs in three consecutive games, Cal State Fullerton hosts James Madison in a three-game series beginning Friday at Goodwin Field.

The Titans have put up 10 or more runs in the past three games, the most since the 2009 season where they scored double-digit runs in five consecutive games.

Fullerton is coming off a 10-4 victory over the USC Trojans at Goodwin Field in a single game mid-week match-up where the Titans battled back after giving up a run in the first inning.

Hank LoForte heads into the weekend series boasting a 59 game on-base streak. LoForte's remarkable on-base streak leads the nation in most consecutive games reaching safely. Through 14 games the senior is batting .357 with a .413 on-base percentage along with eight RBI and a team-high 13 runs.

Sophomore Tanner Bibee is expected to start Friday night's opener for the Titans. Bibee has been impressive in his four starts this season with a record of 2-2 and 3.16 ERA while striking out an average of 8.77 batters per nine innings.

Zach Lew is coming off a career-high game against USC as he went 3-for-3 at the plate with two doubles and a home run which was his first career home run. Lew recorded three RBI and four runs in the Titans win over the Trojans.

Junior shortstop Sahid Valenzuela is off to career year in his junior campaign, batting an impressive .382 so far in 2019. Valenzuela went 2-for-4 with a tied for season-high three RBI in the Titans 10-4 win over the Trojans Tuesday night.

Mitchell Berryhill has been nothing short of spectacular to start the season for the Titans as he batting .422 with a .509 on-base percentage along with a .533 slugging percentage. Berryhill has also recorded nine RBI and six runs on the season.
