Titans Drop Game One to New Mexico

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. – Due to rain and high wind speeds Friday's game against New Mexico was suspended and resumed Saturday morning as the Titans were unable to overcome the six run deficit, dropping game one of the series 6-4. 

The Titans started getting on a role when the game was suspend as Hank LoForte hit a single to right-field, scoring Mitchell Berryhill to cut New Mexico's lead to just three runs.

One inning earlier Daniel Cope hit a double to right-field to drive in Isaiah Garcia and LoForte to get the Titans on the board after trailing 6-0 through five innings. Cope is on tear through 7.1 innings of the game, going 3-for-3 with two doubles and two RBI.

LoForte has one hit, a run and one walk including the final play of Friday night, giving Fullerton the momentum heading into the final 2.2 innings Saturday afternoon. With his walk in the sixth, LoForte extends his on-base streak to 56 consecutive games, the longest active streak in the nation.

Tanner Bibee went five innings, allowing seven hits, six runs (five earned) while striking out four batters. Titus Groeneweg come on in relief in the sixth inning and looked strong, giving up just one hit and striking out one. Dillon Brown finished off the game on the mound for Fullerton, pitching the final two innings and gave up no hits and no runs while striking out one.

Fullerton plays game two of the series Saturday afternoon with first pitch now scheduled for 12:30 p.m. PT.
