Team USA Holds Final Practice Before World University Games Pool Play Begins

GWANGJU, Korea - Cal State Fullerton, representing Team USA at the World University Games, held their final practice at KIA-Champions Field on Sunday night.

The practice was cut short after rain began to fall at the stadium and the tarp had to be placed over the field. The Titans were the last scheduled practice of the day.

Baseball at the World University Games officially begins on Monday. Team USA will play its first game at 5 p.m. KT (1 a.m. PT) Monday night against the Czech Republic at Mudeung Stadium, where the Titans practiced on Saturday morning. It will be the final game of the day in Pool B, where both teams reside alongside Mexico and Chinese Taipei.

France, Japan, China and host Korea make up Group A, which will play its games at KIA-Champions Field.

The full schedule for round-robin play is listed below.

Monday, July 6 - USA vs. Czech Republic 1 a.m. PT/5 p.m. KT (Mudeung Stadium)

Tuesday, July 7 - USA vs. Mexico 8 p.m. PT (Monday night)/Noon KT (KIA Champions Field)

Wednesday, July 8 - USA vs. Chinese Taipei 8 p.m. PT (Tuesday night)/Noon KT (KIA Champions Field)

July 10-11 - Medal Rounds

**Broadcasting Note: None of the games during the round-robin portion will be televised or streamed. The medal rounds begin on Friday, July 10 and will be live streamed courtesy of FISU Livesport (http://www.livefisu.tv/home). There is still a possibility one of the Titans' games if not both will be picked up by ESPN for broadcast.
