BAKERSFIELD, Calif. - Cal State Fullerton committed a season-high seven errors and dropped a 14-1 non-conference decision to CSU Bakersfield Wednesday night at Hardt Field.

The Titans (20-19) allowed 10 unearned runs and the Roadrunners (23-15-1) tallied 18 hits, a season high for a Fullerton opponent.

Josh Vargas led the Fullerton offense as he went 3-for-4 with three singles. Timmy Richards was 2-for-3 and tallied his first career triple in the sixth inning. Tyler Stieb went 1-for-4 with an RBI and extended his hitting streak to 10 games. Dalton Blaser and Jake Jefferies also tallied hits for the Titans.

Third baseman Joey Sanchez led the way for Bakersfield, going 3-for-3 with five RBIs. He was one of three players to record three hits on the day for the Roadrunners.

On the mound, Alec Daily picked up the victory as he went six innings in relief. He allowed one run on seven hits and walked two.

The Roadrunners got on the board in the second inning after Max Carter and Soloman Williams led off the frame with singles. Joey Sanchez drove one of his five RBIs with a single up the middle and then a sacrifice fly by Ross Hough made it 2-0 for Bakersfield.

After that, the Titans allowed just two earned runs but six errors helped the Roadrunners plate nine unearned runs to help the Roadrunners runaway with the game. The Titans committed two errors in the third for four unearned runs and then committed one in the fifth for three more unearned runs. The Roadrunners added three more in the sixth, two of those unearned and they never looked back.

The Titans will return home this weekend for a critical Big West Conference series against first-place UC Irvine.

Notes: The Titans finished their season-high nine-game road swing 4-5.
