SÃO PAULO, Brazil – Cal State Fullerton women's track and field sophomore-to-be earned a runner-up finish at the FISU America Games on Saturday in the women's high jump competition. Hamm cleared 5-9.25 (1.76m) in the competition, which is tied for the second-best clearance of her outdoor career.
As a freshman, Hamm set both the indoor (5-10/1.79m) and outdoor (5-10/1.78m) school records in the event. She scored for the Titans at the MPSF Indoor Track & Field Championships, taking fourth place with her school-record mark. Outdoors, at the Big West Championships, she also took fourth place when she cleared 5-9.25 (1.76m). Hamm qualified for the NCAA West Preliminaries and cleared 5-7 (1.70m) to take 29th place overall.
Fellow Titan Laura Hamann, who just completed her senior year at Fullerton, is set to triple jump on July 22. She won the 2017 Big West Championship in the event and holds the indoor school record in the event as well with a mark of 40-0.75 (12.21m). During the 2018 campaign, she took third place at the conference championships with a season-best leap of 40-2.25 (12.25m).
