PHILADELPHIA, Pa. – The Cal State Fullerton track and field program wrapped up its cross country trip to Philadelphia Friday after another day of competition at the 120th Annual Penn Relays, hosted by the University of Pennsylvania at historic Franklin Field.

In front of 38,135 people in attendance, freshman Destinee Brown raced to a time of 12.02 in the women's 100-meter dash and placed 10th overall, but fell just short of qualifying for Saturday's college section finals as she squared off against top schools such as Auburn, Texas Tech, and Texas A&M.

Fullerton also participated in the 4x100m relay finals after qualifying on Thursday with a time of 46.08. However, with cold and windy conditions again on Friday, the Titans did not finish the race.

"I think this was a great opportunity for the girls to experience competition at this level," said associate head coach Brandit Copper. "To be in front of a crowd like the Penn Relays for the first time and make it back to the finals was amazing. I am very proud of these young ladies for representing our university with pride. Even though we had an exchange zone problem and the baton was dropped the lady Titans were very humble and this minor error will be fixed as we get ready for conference."

Fullerton now looks ahead to this coming weekend, where the Titans will compete in the Steve Scott Invitational in Irvine, Calif.
