2014 Boston Marathon Results

FULLERTON, Calif. – Former Cal State Fullerton distance runner Nick Arciniaga placed seventh and was the second American male finisher at the 2014 Boston Marathon Monday morning.

Arciniaga, who graduated in 2006, finished with a time of 2:11.47, while Meb Keflezighi was the overall winner with a mark of 2:08.37 and became the first American to win the race since 1983.

"We're all really proud of Nick. Today's race is big for him and his running career, but it is also very important for Cal State Fullerton and our program as well," said head coach John Elders.

The Fullerton alum entered Monday's marathon as the reigning U.S. National Marathon champion after an impressive title at last year's Twin Cities Marathon.

Arciniaga has run in two U.S. Olympic Marathon Trials and the seventh place finish earlier this morning marks the second time that Nick has placed in the top ten at the Boston Marathon (2008, 10th). In 2008, Arciniaga was also the first American man to cross the finish line.
