York-Mouton Named Big West Men’s Track Athlete of the Week

IRVINE, Calif.- Freshman Daniel York-Mouton had an impressive performance at last weekend's UCI Spring Break Invitational and was awarded with the Big West Men's Track Athlete of the Week accolade in a vote by the league coaches, it was announced Thursday afternoon.

The freshman won the 400-meter dash with a time of 47.95 last weekend in Irvine and York-Mouton's time ranks second in the conference and 31st nationally. The Inglewood, Calif., native performance also helped the men win first-place at Anteater Stadium.

York-Mouton also claimed the 10th best time in league in the 200-meter race with a 21.94 finish, which the second best time at UCI. The freshman sprinter also helped the 4x100m finish second with a time of 42.13 and third in the 4x400m with a time of 3:16.99.

The freshman also becomes the first Titan to be honored with an Athlete of the Week award since May 8, 2013 when Katie Wilson and Walter Whitaker were honored.

Cal State Fullerton returns to action this weekend at the UC Riverside Invitational in Riverside, Calif.
