Six Titans Earn MPSF All-Academic Honors

FULLERTON, Calif. – The Cal State Fullerton women's indoor track and field team had six student-athletes named to the Mountain Pacific Sports Federation (MPSF) All-Academic team for the 2015 season, it was announced Friday.

Senior's Katie Bathgate (3.91 GPA), Tejera Dial (3.38) and Elizabeth Claustro (3.00) were all honored for in their last season as Titans while junior Alexandria Stewart (3.19) and sophomore's Brooke Hardge (3.73) and Ty'Jalayah Robertson (3.04) were also named to the list.

Stewart receives the award for the second-straight season after earning a 3.29 GPA in her sophomore season as a Titan.  The sprinter from Woodland Hills, Calif. participated in the 60m dash and 200m dash events during the 2015 season.

Dial, a Bakersfield native, set the Fullerton school record in the 800-meter run (2:13.67 seconds) at the MPSF Championships over the weekend of Feb. 27-28 in Seattle, Wash.  Robertson was the other Titan to break a record at the MPSF Championships that weekend, setting the Fullerton mark in the high jump after clearing 1.71-meters.

Claustro and Bathgate participated primarily in the relay events during the 2015 indoor season, helping the Titans to multiple top-five finishes in both the distance medley relay and the 4x400m relay.

In order to make the list, these student-athlete's must maintain a 3.00 GPA or better, be at least a sophomore academically, and must have competed in 50 percent or more of the institution's competitions for that season.
