Lindy Zamora Named Sports Media Director

FULLERTON, Calif. - Cal State Fullerton welcomes Southern California native Lindy Zamora to the Titan family as the sports information veteran has been hired as the department’s sports media director.

A native of Redlands, Calif., Zamora joins the Cal State Fullerton Athletics Department after spending the last three years as assistant director of athletics media relations for East Carolina University. While at ECU, Zamora was the primary contact for volleyball, softball, and men’s and women’s track and field.

Zamora found her way to East Carolina after serving as a sports information staff assistant at the University of Redlands. She assisted the sports information office at football, volleyball, men's and women's basketball, baseball, and softball games. Prior to her stint at Redlands, Zamora served as the assistant director of athletic communications at Angelo State University in San Angelo, Texas. She oversaw all media relations efforts for volleyball, women's basketball, and baseball. In addition, Zamora was responsible for maintaining the social media platforms and she oversaw a group of six undergraduate student workers and three graduate assistants.

Zamora gained experience working as an intern in media relations at The Summit League and Loyola University Chicago. At The Summit League, she was responsible for overseeing all aspects of media relations for men's soccer, cross country/track and field, swimming and diving, and softball. At Loyola, Zamora was responsible for the media relations efforts for the men's soccer, cross country/track and field, and men's volleyball programs.

As an undergraduate student at UCLA, Zamora worked in the athletic department both in the sports information and marketing offices. In sports information, she worked primarily with the Bruins baseball team. In the marketing office, Zamora served as both a group sales representative and a marketing intern, coordinating pre-game and in-game promotions at numerous sporting events, including football and men's basketball.

A native of Redlands, Calif., Zamora graduated from Crafton Hills College in 2004 with an Associate's Degree in mathematics and earned her Bachelor's Degree in English from UCLA in 2007.
