Titans Foto Flashback is a series intended to go into the mind of our current and past student-athletes to see what they were thinking and feeling at particular moments that photos were taken. This week we are featuring senior Haley Brown of the women's soccer team.

Then-junior Brown just scored the match-winning goal in the 77th minute against the Matadors. The win for the Titans meant they secured the regular season Big West Championship.

Q: Do you remember this moment?

A: The week prior to this game was actually a rough week for me in practice. I couldn't execute. The coaches had really high expectations of me and I just felt like I wasn't meeting those expectations. I got subbed in right before this moment and (assistant coach) Kellan (Wilson) said to me, 'hey, just go score' and in this moment I couldn't even think. It just went into the back of the net and I was ecstatic. So in this moment, it felt worth it. All of the hard work that we put in, the results do come you just have to be patient. It was a way that I could be there for my teammates.

Q: So in the moment did you think about the ramifications of the goal? Meaning, winning the title and hosting the Big West Tournament.

A: Oh yeah, I wanted to the Big West Tournament at home. So to get this goal was just a way to help the team accomplish that goal any way that I could.

Q: What does this photo mean to you in terms of your passion for the game?

A: I love this photo because Meghan Schroh is in the picture with me. A lot of the times there's this pressure to be the best individual player but this just reminds me that it's a team sport at the end of the day. Individual hard work and perseverance is going to pay off for the team and that's why I love this picture.

Q: What did the win in this game and the successful season mean to you?

A: I think playing the Big West Tournament really helped us out. I had the confidence in us that we could perform no matter where we went but to be at home and have that one step up on the competition with our fans and the familiarity of our stadium, it helped with our confidence and team performance.
