Position: Assistant Strength and Conditioning Coach

Assistant strength and conditioning coach Will Otto enters his fifth year at Cal State Fullerton after joining the staff in May of 2010.

Otto currently works with the men’s and women’s track and field programs as well as the men’s soccer program. In addition, Otto serves as the strength and conditioning coach for the women’s soccer team, which has won two Big West Championships since Otto’s arrival.

Otto composes and executes each program’s workouts, and increases performance by implementing speed, agility and quickness drills.

While at Cal State Fullerton, Otto has also worked with the basketball, volleyball, golf and tennis programs.

Before joining Cal State Fullerton, Otto worked at The Cutting Edge in Lake Forest, Calif., as a performance enhancement specialist. He compiled programs for team training in basketball, volleyball, football and track and field, taught Olympic weight lifting movements and administered drills and athlete training evaluations.

He is a certified strength and conditioning specialist (CSCS) and a member of the National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA). Otto is also a USA Weightlifting Level 2 Senior Club Coach.

Otto earned his bachelors degree in sociology from the University of Nebraska in 2007 and was a member of the football program in 2005 and 2006 after transferring from Fullerton College.

The Fullerton, Calif., native received his masters in kinesiology from Cal State Fullerton in May of 2011.
