Steve Carranza joined the Cal State Fullerton Athletics department in the fall of 2020 as an assistant athletic trainer. His two primary sports are women's volleyball and men's and women's track and field.
Previously, Carranza served as a graduate assistant athletic trainer here at Cal state Fullerton while completing his master’s degree in Kinesiology. During his first stint, he primarily worked with the women’s soccer program. Prior to Cal State Fullerton, Carranza was an Athletic Training Student at San Jose State University from 2014-16. From 2016-2018 he was an Intern Athletic Trainer for the San Francisco 49'ers of the National Football League.
Carranza received his B.S. in Kinesiology with a concentration in Athletic Training from San Jose State University. Born and raised in Van Nuys, Carranza currently lives in Corona, California. In his free time, he enjoys hanging out with family, friends, working out and playing sports.
