Marcela Burrell came to Cal State Fullerton Athletics in April, 2014. Burrell currently serves as the Development Coordinator. She delivers high-level administrative support to the Associate Athletic Director, Development and is responsible for facilitating major gift transactions from individuals, corporations, foundations, organizations, and all fundraising events. She is the liaison between Athletics, University Advancement, and the Philanthropic Foundation.
Prior to joining CSUF, Burrell spent over fifteen years working in Workforce Development for the non-profit sector, and had a stint as a field deputy in the City of Los Angeles, serving Council District 13, during Eric Garcetti’s tenure.
As a member of the Titan Athletics development team, her role has grown tremendously over the last five years, as Athletics giving has increased from $884,000 to $3,700,000.
Active in the community, Burrell has spent the last seven years volunteering in leadership roles in the local non-profit sector for Airtime Flag Football League and Airtime Weightlifting Academy. Burrell is an elected PTA Board Member, charged with all fundraising efforts at Glenview Elementary School in the PYLUSD, and the Yorba Linda High School Football Booster Club.
The Los Angeles native resides in Placentia, Calif., is married to Richi Burrell, and has two children, Andrew and Aaron. The family's golden retriever is Hercules.
