Position: Associate Director of Development

Eric Lane joined the Cal State Fullerton Athletic Department in the Fall of 2016 and serves as the Associate Director of Development. In his role with the Titans, Lane focuses primarily on the identification, cultivation, solicitation and stewardship of customers and prospects capable of making principal and major gifts as individuals, corporations, foundations and organizations. In his first year Lane was a part of the development unit that doubled its fundraising goal, yielding over $3,000,000.

Before entering intercollegiate athletics, Lane had 10 years of fundraising experience in the nonprofit sector. He came to Cal State Fullerton from the Mayor’s Fund for Los Angeles, where he served as a Development Manager for Mayor Eric Garcetti’s administration raising funds for Los Angeles civic programs. Prior to his role at MFLA he served as the Program Director at The Posse Foundation Inc. where he focused on college access for students overlooked by the traditional college selection process as well as provide development support. Lane’s experience also includes serving with Playworks Southern California and the YMCA.

A native of Los Angeles, Lane graduated from Concordia University (Irvine, Calif.) with a master’s degree in coaching and athletic administration. His master’s thesis focused on the impact of youth sports programs.

He earned his bachelor’s degree in communications at Boise State, where he was also a four-year letterman on the men’s basketball team.

From 2003-04 to 2006-07 Lane  averaged 9 points, 2 rebounds and 2 assists with the Broncos and was named to the Western Athletic Conference's All-Defensive Team as a senior.

As of 2016-17, he ranks 6th all-time at Boise State with 199 career 3-pointers and ranks 9th all-time in games played with 122. He also surpassed the 1,000 career point plateau his senior season.

Lane played two years of professional basketball in Europe, one with the German TG Renesas Landshut squad, the other in Rakvere, Estonia, for the BC Rakvere Tarvas. He prepped at St. John's Bosco High School in Bellflower, Calif., where he was named the John Wooden California High School Player of the Year and CIF Player of the Year in 2003.
